Aristolochia bracteolata is a plant common in India
This plant is a member of Aristolochiaceae plant family..
This is a prostrate perennial herb or undershrub. The leaves are long and broad, broadly ovate or reniform and glabrous. The flowers are dark purple, axillary solitary. The capsules are oblong-ellipsoid, glabrous and ribbed. The flowering season July - December.
Usage:
In Ayurveda the leaves, seeds and the roots are used for
treatment of skin diseases, ulcers, eczema
Chemical compounds obtained:
Glucosides, isoaristolochic acis, Allantoin and isovanillin are obtained from this plant.
