Description

Calendula officinalis is a herb common in India. It is grown as ornamental garden plant. It is also found in many parts of the world, like USA, Europe.

This plant is a member of Asteraceae plant family.

This is an eract herb or under shrub.The stem is glandular, hairy and angular. The leaves are simple,entire and upper ones are lanceolate.The flowers are yellow to orange in colour.

Usage

In Ayurveda the plant is used for treatment of general debility gastrointestinal and genitourinary infections. Also, useful in skin diseases
