Description

curculigo orchioides is a herb common in India It is found in many parts of the world, like Australia, China, and Japan.

This plant is a member of Amaryllidaceae plant family.

This is a perennial herb with underground rootstocks. The leaves are radical and glabrescent. The flowers are golden yellow, about 1 cm. across in small racemes. The capsules are beaked. The seeds are subglobose, black and strongly rugose. The flowering season is June to September.

Usage

In Ayurveda the roots are used for treatment of general debility, jaundice, colic and are good aphrodite. The roots have good hepatoprotective action.
