This weed is from Compositae plant family. This is an annual many Branched small herb. The stem and the branches are cylindrical. The Leaves are sessile, decurrent, obovate-oblong and rounded. The flowers bloom in November to January. The flowers are ovoid heads of reddish purple color.

Usage
The herb has a bitter taste. All the parts of the plants are used for medicinal purpose. It is used as laxative and tonic. It increases the appetite. Useful for treatment of Hepatitis B. The roots, stem, leaves, fruits and flowers almost all the parts are used as Ayurvedic herbal medicine.
